Sofitel BKC Buffet – Malaysian Food Festival
Sofitel BKC Buffet
My trip to Malaysia is pending and is definitely on my bucket list but one doesn’t need to travel all the way there to experience Malaysian food at the Sofitel BKC Buffet. I recently got to sample a teaser of Malaysian cuisine at the Pondicherry Cafe at Sofitel Hotel sofitel-mumbai-bkc.com
Accompanying me to the event was the enterprising and the apple of my eye, my daughter Zenia Irani. She manages to balance her profession as an Audiologist and passion for food with ease.
Sofitel Mumbai is located in BKC, Bandra East and easily guided by Google Maps. The Hostess will politely guide you to the Pondicherry Cafe. The Cafe wore such a vibrant look at the entrance of the cafe is decorated with Malaysian artifacts. It serves both buffet and a la carte selections, however, the Sofitel BKC Buffet is the best to try. The staff is very polite and the service makes sure your experience here is a memorable one.

When we talk about Malaysian Food, you can think of spice. Malaysian food is a blend of by Thai, Chinese, Indonesian and Indian cuisine. All of these influences evolve from the use of the wok to the combinations of spices used in many popular dishes. We were there to experience the local cuisine and some of the popular dishes of that Land.
My Foodie Journey to the #tasteofMalaysia Sofitel Food Festival.
Sambal Udang is a spicy prawn with chilies dish. A dish with my favourite fish I could not miss.
Roti Jala or Net Pancake is a popular Malaysian tea time snack served with curry dishes. But I slurped it up with Sambal Udang and Kamping Rending
It’s as much fun to watch a Chef cook as it is to relish what he has made in front of you. He skillfully rolled the roti on the hot tawa, and exactly knew when to flip it.
The tummies were filled with yummy treats and the true flavours of Malaysian Cuisine were captured by Chefs Borhan and Haron. Thank you Sofitel Mumbai BKC.
