Yaara – A trendsetting Film on ZEE5

Watching a movie in the Cinema Hall is now a distant dream owing to the ongoing Pandemic. It’s been over 5 months since my family has watched a movie on the big screen. It was a ritual to catch a new film over the weekends as we are huge Bollywood buffs. We especially enjoy fast-paced action-packed movies to the core.

However we don’t regret or miss it so much nowadays. For the simple reason that ZEE5 has got us covered. It’s the one OTT that has a variety of shows, movies and more. We set the mood with the lighting, sit back in our recliners and enjoy the shows without any disturbances of ads just like a movie theatre. Interesting? Yes, read on…

While competitive OTT platforms are releasing one new show a month, ZEE5 has gone ahead to release 100 original shows since February 18. With plans to release 70-80 more films and shows this year, it’s only Sone pe Suhaga for all us viewers.

The Storyline and plot of the movie Yaara

The movie is a take on the French crime drama ‘Gang Story’. It is a remake by Director Tigmanshu Dhulia and produced by Sunir Kheterpal on the occasion of Friendship Day. This crime story is of a ‘Chaukdi Gang'(gang of four). The two leads that started this gang are played by Vidyut Jammwal and Amit Sadh. This gang of four members operates across the Nepal-India border and their gang activities include drug smuggling, gun-running, and illegal land deals.

The movie begins in 1990s in Delhi where three of the main protagonists – Phagun (played by Vidyut Jammwal), Rizwan (Vijay Varma) and Bahadur (Kenny Basumatary) meet at a party. These three are now reformed outlaws who have changed their illegal ways. However after meeting their old friend Mitwa (Amit Sadh)  all four of them return back to the crime scene. Shruti Haasan plays Sukanya, a bureaucrat’s daughter for whom Vidyut Jammval has a secret crush. Vidyut’s and Amit’s friendship and bonding is relevant and goes back to their childhood where circumstances had pushed them to take to crime. 

As the film progresses these gangsters are caught by the Police and convicted to serve their sentence in jail. The story revolves around two lead notorious criminals whose strong friendship is put to test and how they overcome many hurdles along with the supporting cast.

Yaara is a big scale film shot across nine different locations in India, Nepal and overseas. The story unfolds across locations in Bhopal, Delhi, Mumbai, Dehradun, Uttarakhand, Kathmandu, and Romania giving the film a very adventurous, touristy and scenic feel.

3. Stupendous acting by the Star cast –

Shruti Haasan, Vidyut Jammwal and  Amit Sadh performances are praiseworthy and enjoyable. Vidyut Jammwal displays his skills as a martial artist, and performs fab stunts.  Amit Sadh and Shruti Haasan deliver exceptional, applaudable performances.

4. Friendship goes a long way –

This tale of two friends who share a strong bond since childhood is depicted. These four friends share a connection just like family does.  Basically the film Yaara delivers the strong value of friendship and emotional connection. 

Yaara seems like a well-directed, powerful movie with phenomenal acting and action.  It is a movie one definitely will enjoy. Yaara is a ZEE5 original film that premiered on 30^th July.  A must watch film – Yaara A trendsetting Film on ZEE5
