Unparalleled Udaipur Romantic Places

What if I told you, that Udaipur is considered as the most romantic place in India. In fact, it is known to be one of the most romantic spots in all of Asia. With its beautiful Forts and Palaces that tell romantic stories of their legendary kings and Queens. This gorgeous city makes for the perfect honeymoon destination, cultural center, and face of Rajasthan. Lets further discover Udaipur Romantic Places.

Blessed to have got the opportunity to stay at the lake palace in Udaipur. Yes, considered one of Udaipur Romantic Places, I had the opportunity to visit in the second year of my marriage for a romantic second honeymoon.

 Udaipur Romantic Places to visit 

Udaipur Lake Palace

 

Maharana Jagat Singh built this spectacular marble Palace for the summer retreat and romantic space in 1746. The  Taj group of hotels renovated the Palace called it  “Taj Lake Palace”. We actually stayed at the Taj Lake Palace, this was an experience of a lifetime. The architecture and feel to this entire palace were exquisite; there are a few structures that leave the visitor awestruck. Our room had a mirrored swing, baithak, and bejeweled bed. The view from our balcony was breathtakingly beautiful. It can’t get more romantic than this.

Lake Pichola

We took the boat ride from our hotel to see the sunset, The view of Lake Pichola on a winter evening is very romantic. Even though we were husband and wife, I hoped my husband got on his knees one more time to pop the question ” Will you marry me, honey?” Lake Pichola sets a  beautiful backdrop for couples in Udaipur.  Pichhu Banjara developed this beautiful man-made lake in the year 1362. In Udaipur, Lake Pichola is a very popular tourist destination with beautiful islands, City Palace, hills, Ghats, and temples that are in the vicinity. This lake is the best location for couples to enjoy the scenic views of the lake and a pleasant atmosphere around them.

Jag Mandir

Jag Mandir is another grand structure that stands battling the Lake Pichola. This is located on the Jagmandir Island, which is famous for architectural structures. Inside the Jag Mandir, you can find many interesting pieces of works like marble elephants, garden courtyard, 12 stones palace, Zenana Mahal, Gul Mahal, and others. Visiting the palace in the evening after the place is lit with lights is a mesmerizing treat for your eyes. One of  Udaipur romantic places that mesmerizes everyone.

City Palace

This is a cluster of many towers and buildings inside a complex. It is a little more than just a token sightseeing spot. This is a place of architectural marvel. You can find many interesting structures here like the vintage car museum, Maharani Palace, Daawat-e-Aam and others. Every evening, there is a  light and sound show to explain the history of the land.

This is an important tourist attraction and still the royal residence of the Mewar family. At the entrance of the palace, you can find an interesting temple built in Indo Aryan

Saheliyon ki Bari

Garden of Maidens or Saheliyon Ki Bari,  used to be the residence of maids who accompanied the princess after her marriage. The maids were used for recreational activities like singing, dancing, and others. The best part is the garden’s aesthetic factor, which includes fountains, marble elephants, lotus pool, kiosks, and others. If you are visiting in winter, you are in a treat as the climate makes the place more charming in the nippy weather. Just feel like a breath of fresh air.

 

Kumbhalgarh Fort

This fort is a little away from the main city of Udaipur. The travel is totally worth it. This is a 15th Century hilltop fort. It has many histories related to it including the great battle of Maharana Pratap. Sightseeing in the fort is as important as the beautiful surroundings. November to February are the perfect months to visit here. However, it is extra romantic during the rainy season when the entire landscape is magically green and the weather is pleasant.

Sajjangarh Palace

Sajjangarh Palace also known as Monsoon Palace which is a very famous spot for couples on a peak of Bansdara Mountain at an altitude of 944 mts. Actually, this palace was built to know the direction of monsoon clouds by Maharana Sajjan Singh. You can have beautiful views of Fateh Sagar Lake, Udaipur aerial view and the scenic beauty of Pichola Lake. The palace is located on a small hill and it has a fairy-tale look. I still remember the beauty of the surroundings. There is a small wildlife sanctuary called Sajjangarh wildlife sanctuary near the palace. People usually club the palace and sanctuary as one trip.
