A Qatar Vacation on your Mind?
Qatar isn’t the top location for most of vacation planners. However, a Qatar Vacation is slowly emerging as a good getaway option for Indian tourists. It has lots to offer besides its rich culture, history and luxurious activities. It is emerging as a top tourist destination for Indians in 2019 You will have to make sure that you have planned an interesting Qatar Vacation before you set out to travel. it is also one of the safest countries in the world for tourists and boasts the true wonders of hospitality that Arabs are so well known for.
How to get there – Doha, Arabic Al-Dawḥah is the capital of Qatar, located on the east coast of the Qatar Peninsula in the Persian Gulf. More than two-fifths of Qatar’s population lives within the city’s limits. Qatar Airlines offers direct flights from major cities in India to Qatar on a daily basis.

What a Qatar Vacation offers
1.Dune Bashing
2. Visit Al Zubarah Fort and the abandoned village
3. Museum of Islamic Art
The Museum of Islamic Art is located in the heart of a body of still, clear water. Entrance to the Museum is totally free. When you step inside, you will be struck by the intricacies of its interior, which sharply contrasts with the simplicity of its exterior. The architecture is impressive, you will really enjoy walking through the exhibits displayed. You get to see jewelry , ceramics, tapestry, woodwork, etc from Qatar, Syria, Iran, Iraq and so many places.
4. Visit Souq Waqif
If you want to an authentic feel of the city, then the Souq Waqif is a must place to go. You can walk around the maze-like alley with shops bursting with fabric, spices, sweets, household goods, and souvenirs.
You can also find delicious Middle Eastern restaurants serving hummus, flatbread, and Baba ghanoush but you can also stop by a relaxed café vibe place and have mint tea and smoke a local shisha.
5.Katara Mosque
The Katara Mosque is situated in the center of the Katara Cultural Village site, where some of the most beautiful architecture in the Middle East is just waiting to be seen. The design of the Katara Mosque is unlike typical mosques in Qatar. The building is a mosaic of predominantly blue tiles, with hints of red and yellow. You will be blown away by the intricate designs and the equally complex interior. Accompanying the mosque are three spiked pillars reaching for the sky. The contrast between these overwhelming structures and the beauty of the mosaic walls is truly striking.
6. Best of Shopping Malls
One of the greatest Mall to visit in Qatar the Villagio Mall. Its Venetian themed shopping extravaganza. With an indoor Gondolania canal boat ride which goes through the mall! This mall has over 500 stores offering the largest variety of products and grand entertainment for the entire family. All of these malls in Doha can have offered a good time, you can spend an entire day without getting bored at all.!
7. Ascending The Aspire Tower
The Aspire Tower, also known as The Torch Doha, is a 300-metre tall skyscraper hotel. It has been the symbol of the 15th Asian Games hosted by Qatar in 2006.
The tower is the tallest structure and building in Qatar is definitely worth visiting.
You can admire the modern interiors, panoramic swimming pool on the 19th floor, and an amazing 360 degree rotating restaurant located at the very top of this hotel. The view of the city is simply breathtakingly beautiful.
8. Dont miss Doha’s Corniche and dhows
A casual stroll along the Doha Corniche is a relaxing way to spend a lazy evening . The seven-kilometer promenade stretches across the Persian Gulf in the West Bay from the Sheraton Hotel to the Museum of Islamic Art. You can grab a coffee, fly a kite or take a photo by the iconic pearl shell, a symbol of Qatar’s traditional past.
Of course, there is lots more you can see and do in Qatar, but this my list of the best things to do on my Qatar Vacation. Have I missed anything important ? Leave a comment below and do let me know.

I have lived for over 10 years between Dubai and Muscat (Oman), but I have never been to Qatar. It sure sounds like I have missed out on a mini-vacation I could have treated myself to when I was there! Hopefully I will be able to visit one day 🙂
