Classic Malt Selection Lounge at LFW – Well kept secrets revealed
Classic Malt Selection Lounge at LFW
It was time of the year, Lakme Fashion Week arrives in Mumbai, and there couldn’t be a better venue than Jio Gardens. Friday afternoon at Lakme Fashion Week was a special one, as I got an invite from the Classic Malt Selection team to come and experience their range of Classic Malts.

The Classic Malt Selection Lounge
This was quite a happening place and the ideal location for people to unwind and have interesting conversations between the fashion shows. The lounge had comfortable seating, a well-stocked bar with spirits such as Singleton of Glen Ord, Talisker, Ketel One and Tanqueray.

Single Malt Tasting with Jamie Walker

Jamie Walker needs no introduction. He is the Reserve Brand ambassador for Diageo in India and works on the luxury portfolio. With an in-depth knowledge of the spirit industry, and his love for whiskey was evident through the session.
He enthusiastically explained each of the Single Malts as he took us on a journey to the districts of Scotland and the origins of the Single Malts. He told us to have whiskey the way it makes you happy, and how it’s a great conversation starter. There is no one way to drink whiskey, be it on the rocks or in your cocktail. Each one has a different way to enjoy this Single malt.
We swirled and sipped each Classic Malt Selection. And each of us got to experience these exquisite liquids. They were all different from the other in color, taste and appearance, and we learned that the Color of the Malt comes from aging in the barrel.
Let me take you on a small tour of Scotland like Jamie Walker did today
The Classic Malt Selection
The Singleton of Glen Ord 12YO – Singleton comes from Highlands of Scotland and has a vanilla, fruity flavor. This was my favorite of the whiskeys we tasted that day.
The Talisker – Talisker is a smoky whiskey, which is warm and peppery on the first sip. Enjoy it neat or on the rocks, as you please.
Cardhu – Cardhu comes from the land of Johnnie Walker, and is honey golden in color. The first whiff was powerful but had a well-balanced taste.
Glenkinchie – Glenkinchie had a beautiful pale glow color. One of the few lowland distilleries that still exist in Scotland, Glenkinchie is also known as the “The Edinburgh Malt”.
It was time well spent in with these luxurious spirits. The Classic Malts Selection Lounge at LFW was definitely the place to be. The live session with Jamie Walker was the best part, and it was a great experience to be a part of it.
