Asian Paints Workshop with GoodHomes Magazine
The Asian paints Workshop
The Asian Paints store at Hill Road, Bandra hosted a unique and interesting event on Monday, 26th October. It was a workshop by The Good Homes Magazine for hafele_india “#GoodHomesForArt2015” powered by Asian paints in association with New India Assurance!
At the event
There was a mix of interesting people present there, bloggers, artists, painters, and some members of the Good Homes Magazine and the Asian Paints team.
Ms. Shibani Jain from Baaya Designs talked about folk art at the start. She presented a Powerpoint explaining what Baya designs is all about and how they bring forth rural art into present architecture while embarking on interior projects. It was really fascinating to see all those traditional art forms being depicted and portrayed in murals, walls, doors, panels, paintings, etc. Kudos to the team of Baya Designs where creativity rolled into interiors is not everyone’s cup of tea.
Award winning warli artist Ramesh Hengde introduced the Warli Art to us. It was an ancient ritual art done by the women folk of the tribe. Each picture depicted a story. The base was made by turmeric, brick, cow dung, etc and they used rice flour paste for the white drawing. He drew so beautifully and inspired everyone present in the room to try to paint too.
What I painted with Asian paints
My picture depicts a bright sunny day where the womenfolk are preparing a meal for the guests who are about to arrive. Details of birds a pet dog, birds, and flowers are seen in my painting. I loved painting it 🙂
It was a happy feeling to create a painting that would be a part of the Art Installation on Carter Road from 28th- 30th October.
Food for thought
Once a foodie always a foodie. Some finger licking yummy treats were laid out for everyone. A special mention to the Coffee shots, mini veg Pizza and delicious samosas. The catering was done by Joel Dsouza from Crumbs to Gourmet.
Down at Carter Road
I am indeed indebted to Asian Paints Workshop and Good Homes magazine for extending their kind invitation and giving my friend and me an opportunity to experience and enjoy this Arty event 🙂
